When you build a business, a real estate portfolio, or a lifetime of savings, you eventually reach a point where the question becomes:

How do I protect everything I’ve built for the people I love?

That’s where legal planning matters.

I work with families, business owners, and real estate investors in Oklahoma City who want more than just legal documents. They want a clear plan that protects their assets, prevents conflict, and keeps their family out of court.

My Mission: Keep Families Out of Court

Early in my legal career, I spent years in litigation—handling lawsuits, trials, and courtroom disputes.

Litigation teaches an important lesson: even when someone “wins” in court, it usually comes after months or years of stress, uncertainty, and expense.

Over time, I began to see a pattern.

Many of the legal problems people face—family disputes, probate battles, business conflicts—could have been prevented with the right planning.

Today my work focuses on preventing those problems before they ever reach a courtroom.

My goal is simple:

Protect your assets. Protect your family. Keep you out of court.

Why Estate Planning Became My Focus

Two cases later in my career changed the way I view estate planning.

In both situations, a husband had passed away unexpectedly. In both situations, the surviving spouse was left trying to navigate the financial aftermath without a plan.

In one case, the widow’s car was repossessed shortly after her husband died because she did not have access to the accounts he had managed.

In another, a young mother with children could not access her husband’s business funds while waiting for the probate court to appoint her to manage the estate.

Watching families struggle through those situations made something very clear to me:

A lack of planning can turn grief into chaos.

That realization changed the direction of my practice.

Today my work is focused on helping families create plans that ensure the people they love are protected and supported.

Legal Planning for Real Estate Investors and Business Owners

Many of my clients are entrepreneurs and real estate investors.

They have spent years building businesses, rental portfolios, and other assets. But without proper legal planning, those assets can become difficult for their families to manage if something happens to them.

My role is to help clients create a legal structure that keeps everything organized and protected, including:

  • Trust planning to keep assets out of probate
    • Asset protection strategies for families and investors
    • LLC structures and operating agreements
    • Succession planning for businesses and rental portfolios

The goal is simple:

Your family should inherit wealth—not legal problems.

A Planning Process Designed Around Your Life

Most people assume estate planning means filling out forms and signing documents.

But effective planning requires something deeper: understanding your family, your assets, and the legacy you want to leave.

That is why my process begins with a Family Wealth Planning Session.

During this session we:

  • Identify every asset you own
    • Consider the people you love and want to protect
    • Discuss how the law affects your family and finances
    • Design a plan tailored to your goals

The result is not just a set of documents—it is a clear strategy for protecting your family and your assets.

Who I Work With

Most of my clients fall into one of three groups:

Real Estate Investors
Investors building rental portfolios who want to protect their properties, structure LLCs properly, and ensure their families inherit assets without probate disruption.

Business Owners and Entrepreneurs
Owners who want operating agreements, buy-sell planning, and legal structures that prevent disputes and protect the company.

Families Who Want to Protect Their Children
Parents who want to ensure their children are cared for, protected financially, and shielded from unnecessary legal conflict.

Experience That Informs My Planning Approach

My work combines experience in:

  • litigation and courtroom disputes
    • real estate and business transactions
    • estate and trust planning

That combination matters because it means the legal plans I design are built with a clear understanding of what actually goes wrong when planning is missing.

I’ve seen what happens when families are forced into probate disputes or business partners end up in litigation.

My goal is to help clients avoid those outcomes.

My Philosophy on Wealth and Family

If you have built businesses, rental properties, or investments, you have created something valuable.

But building wealth is only half the responsibility.

The other half is organizing that wealth so the people you love inherit opportunity—not confusion.

Estate planning is not just a legal exercise.

It is an act of love and responsibility.

Begin With a Family Wealth Planning Session

Proper planning cannot happen through a quick phone call or generic documents.

Every family, business, and investment portfolio is different.

That is why my process begins with a Family Wealth Planning Session where we:

  • review your assets and legal structure
    • identify risks to your family and investments
    • design a strategy to protect both

Clients often leave this session feeling more financially organized and confident about the future.
